A licensed real estate agent, broker, or appraiser prepares a broker's price opinion (BPO) report. BPO is an informal evaluation. Like a CMA (Comparative Market Analysis), the real estate professional is usually compensated for a BPO. A BPO may consist of either an Exterior Drive-By report or a Full Interior report. 

When conducting a BPO, the real estate agent researches the subject property, takes photographs of it, and analyzes the surrounding area, in addition to retrieving six similar properties (three Active Comps and three Sold Comps) from their MLS (Multiple Listing Service). The final BPO is utilized to support their professional opinion, which will aid in the determination of the possible selling price.
